ProductsLaserGasTM II Open Path Monitor
The Open Path Monitor is designed for long distance monitoring in ambient air, monitoring in production halls, and gas leak detection. Measurement lengths of up to 1000 m one way are possible. The monitor comprises the transceiver unit with laser, detector and all electronic boards and the retro-reflector unit. The passive retro-reflector located opposite to the laser reflects the light back to the transceiver. The detector collects the returned light for further analysis and calculation of the gas concentration. The LaserGas II OP has environmental protection IP 66 and is suitable for rough industrial environments and outdoor use. The monitor is installed on our proprietary x/y alignment platform (goniometer). Adapters for fixed installation on platforms or for tripod use are available. The instrument also includes a visible aiming laser and sighting optics for easy alignment even over long distances. Hoods for protection of the optical windows on transceiver and reflector side can be supplied. In rough industrial environments it is advisable to blow these windows with a fan to prevent dust deposition. Measurement readings are provided through standard 4-20 mA current loops, or as options the fibre-optic output and the Ethernet interface. The latter enables instrument communication via local area networks or the Internet. As option a portable, battery-powered version of the LaserGas II OP is available containing control keypad and flash memory for data logging. Based on the well-proven tuneable diode laser (TDLAS) technology the instrument has a number of unique features.
